CCF Women's Ministry
Women's Ministry Director, Becky Burton, bburton@ccfnet1.org

Let's face it, the people you hang around with are either pointing you to a closer relationship with Jesus or pulling you down--further away from Him. The women's ministry at CCF wants to encourage you to a deeper relationship with Him. I don't know about you, but I am tired of playing games. I'm ready to get real and grow in my relationship with Jesus. So, I invite you! Come join us, the women at CCF, as we "Get Real and Grow Up!"
Serving Him,
Becky

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.  2 Corinthians 4:7

Hi CCF ladies!!!

It has been a while since we had a Women's Ministry event.  I don't know about you, but I'm ready for some fellowship!

We normally take off September from Women's Ministry events due to everyone's busy "back to school" schedules.  But this year, September just didn't seem very celebratory for the women at CCF, did it?  No, our hearts were burdened (and still are heavy) with the passing of Jennifer, our precious friend and sister in Christ.  I believe the month gave us time to reflect and realize what a bond we women at CCF share.  Not only are we sisters in Christ but we are friends!  We women need each other, don't we?  We need to laugh together, cry together, shop together, pray together, be silly together, drink coffee together and of course, eat ice cream together!  Sometimes we get so busy that we don't take time to stop and talk, catch-up or even pray for one another.

Before I reveal our October Women's Fellowship, I wanted to share a story with you that I recently heard at a Bible Study I attend:

A man was exploring caves by the Seashore. In one of the caves he found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn't look like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave with him. As he strolled along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could.
He thought little about it, until he dropped one of the clay balls and it cracked open on a rock . Inside was a beautiful, precious stone! Excited, the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar treasure. He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he had left.
Then it struck him. He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home tens of thousands, but he had just thrown it away!

It's like that with people. We look at someone, maybe even ourselves, and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn't look like much from the outside. It isn't always beautiful or sparkling, so we discount it.
We see that person as less important than someone more beautiful or stylish or well known or wealthy. But we have not taken the time to find the treasure hidden inside that person. There is a treasure in each and every one of us.
If we take the time to get to know that person, and if we ask God to show us that person the way He sees them, then the clay begins to peel away and the brilliant gem begins to shine forth.

May we not come to the end of our lives and find out that we have thrown away a fortune in friendships because the gems were hidden in bits of clay. May we see the people in our world as God sees them.

With that said, it's time for a CCF Women's Ministry fellowship!!!

Our October Women's Ministry fellowship will be for us "clay balls" to find the hidden treasure inside one another as we have some fun and laugh.

Be sure to join us for
